The following divisions comprise the Finance Administration Department:

Responsibilities

The Financial Services Department manages and accounts for the City’s financial resources. The department is responsible for:

  • Investing city funds and protect assets Investment Reports
  • Maintaining fiscal liquidity
  • Maximizing income in compliance with all governing financial and accounts laws
  • Preparing and monitoring the Annual Budget Report

In addition, the department provides daily financial operations for the City, such as payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, debt administration and financial reporting.

Financial Reporting & Transparency

We strive to achieve excellence in financial reporting and maintain high quality bond ratings.  In May 2018, we received the GFOA Budget Award for FY17.

The government-wide Statement of Activities reports the results of the City’s operations on an accrual basis of accounting. Revenues are recognized when earned and expenses are recognized at the time the liability is incurred.
